| The Angel Hotel, Midhurst, is to host
a Sunday Curry Lunch on 3rd July 2005, to raise money
for orphans of the Tsunami disaster.
All money raised by the lunch will be sent to relief
organisations that permanently care for orphans in affected
areas. Money will provide long term relief in the form
of food, clothes, education grants, medical expenses
and counselling.
Lunch will be served from 12.30pm and tickets are £20
for adults and £10 for under-12s. Beef, chicken
and vegetable curries with accompaniments will be served,
with Indian sweetmeats to follow. A glass of wine and
coffee are included in the price. A non-curry option
will be available. All food will be freshly prepared
by Alan Randall, head chef at The Angel Hotel.
A raffle will also be held for prizes donated by local
people and businesses.
Midhurst resident, Judy Fowler, who is helping organise
the lunch commented: “The Angel Hotel is very
good at supporting community events. They wanted to
expand their reach to a region affected by the Tsunami.
150 tickets are available”.
As the Tsunami Central Fund was closed at the start
of March, The Angel Hotel is keen to continue relief
activities now that media attention has decreased.
Amanda Robey, events organiser at The Angel, added
that “Since the disaster, millions of children
are abandoned and suffering. They are in need of food
and clothing. It seems like an impossible task but we
hope to help in whatever way we can. We are asking people
to come along to the lunch to help raise as much money
as possible”.

tickets please contact Amanda Robey at The Angel Hotel
