Tintometer bring 45 jobs to Amesbury
12th May 2005

The first major sale at The Beacon Centre, Solstice Park, Amesbury, has been completed between Abbey Manor Group Ltd, regional property developers based in Yeovil, and Tintometer Ltd, of Salisbury.

Tintometer manufactures scientific instrumentation for colour analysis and water testing. They will occupy 12,000ft2 of office, laboratory and production space from Autumn 2005.

The move by Tintometer will bring 45 jobs to Amesbury and forms the first phase of development at The Beacon Centre. Solstice Park will eventually provide 6,000 employment opportunities for the town.

Chris Counsell, Managing Director of Tintometer Ltd, is pleased to have acquired the prominent plot at the entrance of The Beacon Centre. “We are delighted to be the first business to relocate to the site, which will offer us room to expand our operations and modernise our facilities.”

Nigel Timmis, Managing Director of Abbey Manor Group Ltd comments, “Tintometer is typical of the sort of business we are attracting to Solstice Park. Its landmark building will adjoin The Beacon Centre, a complex of 55, 000 ft2 of office, industrial and commercial space”.

Mrs Jan Swindlehurst, Mayor of Amesbury (2004-2005) believes The Beacon Centre at Solstice Park is a wonderful addition to Amesbury. “The business park will bring 1,500 jobs to the area, which will hopefully keep younger people in the rapidly expanding town of Amesbury. It also allows local residents to avoid travelling into Salisbury for work”.

The president of the Salisbury and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Neil Philpott commented, “I am delighted that Tintometer, one of Salisbury’s longest standing businesses, has taken the lead in recognising the advantages of a key site at Solstice Park. I believe this will continue to offer them a competitive advantage long into the future”.

Sizes of units at The Beacon Centre range from 1,855 ft2 to 10,000 ft2 and are available for occupancy, on freehold or leasehold terms, from Autumn 2005 onwards.
