Aim and content:
Effective Press Relations will introduce participants to the key techniques for using the local and regional press. Led by a working journalist, the course will help attendees to understand how the press works, what makes a good story, producing effective media releases, targeting the press, building beneficial relationships with journalists and getting your stories covered. Effective Press Relations provides a wealth of advice and information. A significant element of the module is the sharing of ideas, experience and skills by participants. By the end of the day, attendees will be able to demonstrate the practical skills required to write a competent press release and get stories into the press.
